The Social Provisions Scale is a 24-item scale created by Cutrona and Russell (Cutrona, C. and Russell, D. (1983). The Provisions of Social Relationships and Adaptation to Stress. in Advances in Personal Relationships, Vol. 1 (eds. Jones, W.H. and Perlman, D.) 37-67 (JAI Press)). This 6-item adaptation uses 2 items from each of the Reliable Alliance, Guidance and Attachment subscales; as used in the NSW Child Health Survey (Centre for Epidemiology and Research, NSW Department of Health (2002).
